Other Issues and Solutions

  • I've installed the USB device driver, but I'm still having communication issues.
  • The device driver may not have been installed correctly.
    Solution
    • This problem can be solved with the following steps:
      1. Press the Windows key+R to bring up the Run window. Now type devmgmt.msc and click OK.
      2. Check the Device Manager. A yellow warning mark like the one shown in the picture below means the device driver has not been properly installed.
      3. Right click the port and select Update Driver Software.
      4. Pick the options shown below.
      5. From the window, choose the latest Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port version and click Next.
      6. Once the install has finished, check to see whether the yellow warning mark has disappeared.
